Turkey’s stance in focus as Anastasiades visits Athens

Turkish provocations and the Cyprus problem are expected to be at the heart of the contacts during Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades' visit to Athens on Wednesday. 

According to Nicosia, Turkey's behavior is not consistent with a constructive attitude that could allow for a sincere discussion on a solution to the Cyprus problem. 

Erdoğan invites Greek Cypriot leader to N Cyprus for meeting

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has invited Greek Cyprus leader Nicos Anastasiades to North Cyprus upon the latter's demand for setting a meeting, Turkish private national broadcaster CNN Türk has reported.

According to CNN Türk, Anastasiades came side-by-side with Erdoğan in a NATO Summit in Madrid, Spain, twice last week.

Greek PM to meet with President of Cyprus on Friday 17 June

A meeting between the President of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades and the Greek Prime Minister, Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is going to be held, next week, according to an announcement by the Press Office of the President of Cyprus.

The meeting is set for Friday, 17 June, at 11:00 am, at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.

The Secretary General of the European People's Party (EPP), Antonio Lopez, said in an interview with "NEA" newspaper that he agrees with the initiative of the Greek government to take unilateral measures to alleviate citizens' energy costs in the absence of a coordinated European framework.
