Bulgaria's Minister of Environment and Water, Neno Dimov, has resigned and been charged with deliberate mismanagement of a water crisis. He faces further grilling over a scandal concerning transports of scrap from Italy.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov accepted his resignation on Friday. Dimov stepped down after being arrested on Thursday.

"For 2018, the waste import permit is about 85,000 tonnes. Below 3% of them were burned in TPPs. " This was announced by the Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov for Nova TV.

Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency on August 14 filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's office against the owner of the secondary raw material plant in Dupnitsa. The company's waste caused a huge fire on Struma motorway.

Another major accident left the inhabitants of the Pernik districts of Iztok, Moshino and Teva, as well as the villages of Lyulin and Golemo Buchino, without water, and the water supply was stopped late last night due to a leak in the neighborhood of Moshino.

A four-month-old bear cub, probably separated from its mother, was found around 20.00 last night in a private yard of a house in the village of Kladnitsa, in the region of the "Vitosha-Studena" State Hunting Enterprise.

The bear cub who found shelter in the courtyard of the house climbs on the fence, then ends up on the nearby pine at an altitude of about 15 meters.

Deputy Minister of Justice Desislava Ahladova on 25th of March was appointed as temporary acting Minister of Justice. She will replace Tsetska Tsacheva, who resigned on Saturday, reports BNT. 

Ahladova will remain in office until the Parliament votes the resignation of Tsetska Tsacheva and the cabinet nominates a new minister of justice.

The Bulgarian chain Fantastico opened a new mini-trade center next to its old site on 204 Cherni Vrah Boulevard in the capital, and by the end of the year it will be presented in two more cities in the country. In 2019, the company is preparing to open three more sites - another one in Sofia and its first ones in Bankya and Pernik, the official announcement says.

Masked revelers in colorful hand-made costumes thronged the streets of Pernik in Bulgaria on Sunday, warding off evil spirits and celebrating the beginning of spring with hopes for good health and a good harvest, reports Reuters. 

Pernik celebrates the 28th International Festival of Masquerade Games Surva on January 25, 26 and 27. A record number of 7,500 participants from Bulgaria and abroad, including 1,300 children, will take part in this year's edition.
