Stefanovic expects to see Udovicki in govt seat

BELGRADE - Vice President of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Nebojsa Stefanovic announced that the session of the SNS Main Board would be held on Tuesday and expressed the expectation that economic expert Kori Udovicki would get a seat in some of economy-related ministries.

“I believe that we will see Kori Udovicki in a ministerial seat, but I cannot specify which seat this may be because this has not been agreed yet,” Stefanovic said.

Director of the Centre for Advanced Economic Studies, Udovicki worked in the International Monetary Fund (1993-2001) and held office as the Serbian minister of energy (2002) and the governor of the National Bank of Serbia (2003-2004) and was also employed within the UN Development Programme.

Stefanovic announced that as the party that won more than a half of mandates in the March 16 parliamentary elections, SNS would continue the talks with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and the New Democratic Party (NDS) during the weekend, while the Main Board session would be held on Tuesday when a number of details concerning the constitution of the new government would be made public.
“What is almost certain at this point and also has the SNS support is the participation of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians in the government as the party expressed the wish to participate in the work of the government on the level of state secretaries,” Stefanovic told Radio Television of Serbia.

The talks with NDS and SPS so far covered only the platform and not tangible participation in the government.
