Jankovic successful at start of Roland Garros

PARIS - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic defeated Canada's Sharon Fichman 5-7 6-1 6-3 in the first round of Roland Garros.

The match started on Monday, but it was interrupted in the second set because it was too dark.

When the match resumed, Jankovic defeated Fichman in less than an hour.

Her next opponent will be Karumi Nara from Japan. The two have met twice so far and Jankovic won both matches.
