Producer price index in industry shows slight increase in April

The Producer Price Index in Industry (PPI) recorded an increase of 0.4 percent in April 2014 compared to the same month the previous year, according to figures released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority on Friday. The index in April 2013 had recorded a decrease of 2.7 percent.

The report also pointed to the PPI in April 2014 recording an increase of 1.1 percent against March 2014. The same index had recorded a decrease of 1.3 percent in April 2013 against March 2013.

The twelve-month average index from May 2013 to April 2014 decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the same period in 2013. The previous year the 12-month average index had increased by 2.3 percent.
