Serbia qualifies for Women’s EHF EURO 2014

NIS – The Serbia women’s national handball team has secured its ticket to the 2014 European Women's Handball Championship, after defeating Slovenia 32-25 (18-15) in Group 5 final qualifier, played in Nis, southern Serbia, late on Sunday.

The team led by coach Sasa Boskovic finished as runner-up in the group behind first-placed Sweden and ahead of Switzerland and Slovenia.

In the first match played in the sixth, last qualifying round, Sweden beat Switzerland at home 36-17 (18-6).

The Group 5 final standings are as follows: Sweden 10, Serbia 8, Slovenia 6, and Switzerland 0 points.

The European Championship will be held in Croatia and Hungary on December 7-21.
