Serbian programmers win three medals in Taiwan

BELGRADE - Four young programmers from Serbia won three medals at 26th International Olympiad in Informatics that closed in Taipei on Sunday , leader of the Serbian team Nikola Milosavljevic has stated.

The Serbian programmers scooped two silver medals and one bronze at this year's competition whić
brought together 311 participants from 82 countries.

Dimitrije Erdeljan, a student of the Novi Sad-based Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj high sćool, and Marko Stankovic, a student of the Nis-based Svetozar Markovic high sćool, eać earned the silver medal, while Ivan Stosic from the same high sćool in Nis got the bronze medal.

The members of the Serbian team for the international Olympiad were selected from the students that had the best results at the district competitions, national competition and the Serbian Olympiad in Informatics.

Microsoft Development Center Serbia financed the final seven-day preparations at the Petnica Science Center, and the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Tećnological Development covered the travel costs.
