AgriMin Constantin: At end-October Romania will host China-Central and Eastern Europe Agriculture Forum

AGERPRES special correspondent Daniel Florea reports: Deputy Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin on Monday announced that at the end of October this year Bucharest will be hosting the China-Central and Eastern Europe Forum, as part of the world's largest international agriculture fair, this being the first event of its kind ever organised outside the People's Republic of China. On the same occasion, the Romanian official announced that Romania is preparing to make the first pork and live cattle exports to China.

'Romania established through this Government's governance programme that agriculture and energy are priority development areas in our country. I believe that agriculture has confirmed over the recent years that it can be the economic growth engine in Romania, but I believe that for now this sector's development potential has not yet been fully capitalised on. The agriculture growth in Romania was also due to the significant amounts of European funds the country had access to and to the fact that until 2020 another 20 billion euros in European funds to be attracted give us the guarantee that we can continue to develop the level of production in our country. I believe this thing ensures the prospects for a significant export potential from our country, a potential planned to be capitalised on including through the collaboration with the companies in your country,' Deputy Prime Minister Daniel Constantin said.

He hailed the fact that over the past two years the number of Romanian-Chinese political and economic meetings increased significantly.
