PM Ponta to attend UN General Assembly in New York

Prime Minister Victor Ponta has announced that he will start his visit to the United States on Tuesday, to attend the U.N. General Assembly in New York and to hold talks on economic topics with the main US energy companies.

"Tomorrow [Tuesday], together with the Foreign Minister, Mr. Corlatean, I will travel to the United States of America to attend the General Assembly of the United Nations, I will deliver Romania's statement in the plenary meeting; it's also an extremely important visit in economic terms. Alongside Mr. Nicolescu [Razvan Nicolescu, minister-delegate for energy], I will hold talks with the main energy companies in the US, hoping to convince more investors in this key field, other than those who have already invested," Ponta said on Monday at the beginning of the Government session.

In this context, the Premier announced that the next government meeting will be held on Oct. 1.AGERPRES
