Gojkovic meets with Marwick

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic, who is staying on a visit to Great Britain, conferred on Thursday with Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament Trisha Marwick on parliamentary cooperation and EU integration, the Serbian parliament released in a statement.

Gojkovic advocated strengthening of the parliamentary cooperation and exchange of experiences in terms of parliamentary procedures, primarily with a view to promoting the monitoring function of the Serbian parliament, the statement reads.

Gojkovic informed Marwick about the parliament's legislative activities as part of the reforms that Serbia has undertaken with a view to achieving financial stabilization, economic development and further EU integration process, the statement says.

Previously during the visit, Gojkovic met with Lord Speaker Baroness Frances D'Souza and Minister for Europe David Lidington.
