Serbian, Chinese defense universities sign MoC

BEIJING - Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic, who is on a five-day official visit to China, visited Special Brigade of the 38th Joint Corps of the Chinese armed forces and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between the National Defense University of China and the Belgrade-based University of Defense.

Owing to the MoC, the undergraduate and graduate degree programs at the Belgrade Military Academy, advanced staff and command courses, specialist training and other types of advanced training courses have been made available to candidates from China.

Gasic also visited an elite unit of the Chinese army, Special Brigade of the 38th Joint Corps, which demonstrated a high level of professional competence, the Serbian Defense Ministry said on its website.

On Monday, the first day of his visit to China, the Serbian defense minister met with his Chinese counterpart Lieutenant General Chang Wanquan and discussed the current political and security situation.

By November 22, Gasic is set to meet with Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission General Fan Changlong, and take part in the 5th Xiangshan Forum organized by the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, the Serbian ministry announced earlier.
