EC is the only one responsible for lifting embargos says EU diplomat to Russia

Specific countries towards which Russia will be loosening the food imports embargo will only be able to resume exports after the European Commission’s say-so.

According to the Lithuanian-born EU diplomat to Russia Vygaudas Usackas both the Russians as well as EU countries know full-well that trade relations are solely up to the European Union, and measures of loosening embargos will only be up for debate after “common agreements”.
