MAE: Minister Bogdan Aurescu to attend Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu will attend, on Monday, in Brussels, the joint meeting of foreign affairs ministers and defence ministers of EU member states (FAC-Defence), followed by the Foreign Affairs Council meeting (FAC), the discussions occasioning opinions on the topic of the guiding document regarding the structure of the strategic revisal, a project that High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will present to the heads of state and government in the European Council of June 25, 2015.

According to a MAE release remitted on Sunday to AGERPRES, the FAC-Defence joint meeting has on the agenda topics relating to the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). The ministers will evaluate stage of fulfillment of tasks set during the European Council of December 16, 2013, on the basis of reports drawn up by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and by the European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Elzbieta Bienkowska. The discussions have as a purpose the preparation of the European Council meeting of June 2015 dedicated to the CSDP.

Another subject on the agenda of the FAC-Defence joint meeting is the evaluation of the stage of implementing the political decisions of the European heads of state and government in the European Council special session held on April 23, 2015.
