MNI news agency: Talks on Greek debt after German elections

A day after Greek PM Alexis Tsipras’s statements during the TIF press conference that the political process in Germany should not stand in the way of discussions over a possible Greek debt relief, financial news agency MNI reported that any talks of a debt restructuring would be postponed until after the German elections, scheduled to take place in exactly one year. Citing European sources, MNI said that the EU was reluctant to enter talks over the Greek debt, while the same source pointed out that there were delays in the completion of the second review of the measures and the subsequent release of the 2.8 billion sub-tranche. The same sources say that Brussels are pushing for the upcoming talks with Greece to take place on a strictly on the technical level. MNI also reports that the European Central Bank (ECB) share the expressed objections of the IMF regarding the Greek economy and the public debt.
