Danilovic gets off to successful start at Roland Garros

PARIS - Serbian tennis player Olga Danilovic has got off to a successful start at Roland Garros by defeating Italian Martina Trevisan 6-1, 6-2 in the first round on Sunday.

Danilovic, who is a qualifier, will next face the winner of the all-American tie between Danielle Collins and Caroline Dolehide.

Danilovic's compatriot Aleksandra Krunic lost 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 to American Katie Volynets on Sunday evening.

In the men's tournament, Serbia's Laslo Djere suffered a 7-5, 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 5-7, 7-6 (10-6) super tie-break defeat to German Daniel Altmaier in the opening round after five hours of play.

The prize money at Roland Garros is 53.4 mln euros.
