CHP head denounces appointment of controversial deputy minister

Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu has denounced the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government for appointing a controversial former deputy Abdurrahim Boynukal?n, who delivered a fiery speech addressing hundreds of protesters who attacked daily Hürriyet on Sept. 6, as the country's deputy minister of youth and sports. 

11 migrants killed off Turkey's Aegean coast

A total of 11 migrants were killed on Dec. 22 when a migrant boat capsized off Turkey's Aegean coast near Ku?adas?.

According to initial reports, 11 migrants were killed in the capsizing, while the Turkish Coast Guard rescued seven migrants from the sea. 

Air-supported rescue efforts on the sea were ongoing.
