Serbia registers 13.4 bln dinar budget deficit in January-September

BELGRADE - Serbia registered a 13.4 bln dinar budget deficit between January and September, which is 115.4 bln dinars better than the planned 128.8 bln deficit, the Ministry of Finance has said.

Revenues totalled 1,372.6 bln dinars, while expenditures amounted to 1,386.0 bln dinars.

A 44.9 bln dinar deficit was registered in September, the ministry said in a statement.

Mali: We want Air Serbia to be flying to 100 destinations in 2027

BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Monday his government wanted Air Serbia to be flying to 100 destinations on scheduled and charter flights in 2027, when the flagship carrier celebrates its 100th anniversary and when Serbia will be hosting EXPO 2027.

Mali said the number of Air Serbia flights and flight destinations was rising year by year.

Officers at stadiums to get allowance

The government plans to give an allowance to police officers who are in charge of checks at sports stadiums, as announced by the minister of citizen protection, Giannis Oikonomou, while speaking to Skai Television. 

"Police officers, among other civil servants and officials, will benefit from the increases we will have from January," he said.

Do we like tax evasion?

Kostis Hatzidakis had made the war against tax evasion a priority before taking over the Ministry of Finance. It wouldn't be easy: There are a myriad of "clients" of the political system who are affected. Furthermore, if a war begins against the tax evasion of those who are easy to target, you never know where it might end up.
