 Events were held in many places across the country marking the 184th birth anniversary of Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero Vassil Levski. Dubbed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski organized and led a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from the Ottoman rule. 

"I'm sorry I'm not with you live, but I take this opportunity to say that the United States supports the Three Seas initiative. I thank President Radev and Minister Petkov for hosting this summit," US President Joe Biden said in a video to the participants in the "Three Seas" initiative on July 8.

"With incredible potential to improve the prosperity of this region."

While Bulgaria is making efforts to improve relations with North Macedonia, the Russian embassy in Skopje issued a message that could only be seen as a provocation in Sofia.

24 May is celebrated in several countries, including Bulgaria, Russia and North Macedonia, as the day of the Saint Brothers Cyril and Methodius and of the Cyrillic script.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will return the exploratory mandate to form a government on May 5.
The information was released by head of BSP-Sofia Kaloyan Pargov, emerging from a sitting of the BSP National Council on
Saturday.

"We made the decision to return the mandate, given the current situation and circumstances," Pargov said.

If there is a caretaker government, Boyko Borissov will join in  the race for the presidency. This became clear from his words before the journalists who were waiting for him outside the hospital after he was discharged. Borissov did not show up in parliament for a hearing on the Recovery Plan: How could I appear like this, he asked.

After the consultations with President Radev Deputy Chairman of There Is Such a People (ITN) Toshko Yordanov said that the party will announce its intentions after receiving a mandate for forming a government.

President Radev's wife Desislava Radeva was admitted to hospital with an aneurysm. The First Lady has had a severe headache since Friday night, but apparently didn't pay much attention to the symptoms. However, her condition deteriorated severely yesterday evening and overnight she was taken to St. Ivan Rilski hospital in Sofia.

The Chairman of GERB and Prime Minister Boyko Borisov gave up his seat as Member of the National Assembly.

"Boyko Borissov wants to stay in power because he is fears for his survival and has all grounds to be afraid - he took too much from too many people. I think that Peevski is history now, it doesn't matter whether they still keep him or not," journalist Koprinka Chervenkova said for "Day with V. Dremdzhiev" talk show on TV+.  

People tend to romanticize their failures. Take, for example, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. In his career, he reached a point where 60% of the Bulgarians - both left- and right-leaning, and even some of his EPP European partners - were convinced it was time for him to step down.
