Bosnian parliament adopts statement on EU

SARAJEVO -- Both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia-Herzegovina have adopted a statement on reforms and the country's EU orientation.

This statement is in accordance with the requirements of the British-German initiative on Bosnia's progress towards the European Union.

Silicon Valley giants to take part in Belgrade conference

BELGRADE -- Prime ministers of Southeast European countries and representatives of the companies like Google, PayPal, Amazon and others will gather in March in Belgrade.

Both chambers of Bosnia and Herzegovina's parliament - the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples - adopted the declaration which unblocks the country's path to the EU at separate emergency sessions on Monday morning.

The breakthrough came hours before the EU's foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, was due to arrive in Sarajevo.

Government Spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis told private SKAI TV on Monday that the Greek government has acted responsibly in representing the Greek people and in its dealings with Greece's EU partners.

The President of the the Bosnian parliament's commission for foreign trade and customs, Semsudin Mehmedovic, told Balkan Insight that Bosnia is in the final phase of preparing to join the World Trade Organization, WTO, which will bring benefits in international trade.

Bulgaria's energy sector is in a state of financial collapse and in need of urgent and adequate measures, according to Minister Temenuzhka Petkova.

Petkova warned in a Sunday interview for the Bulgarian National Radio that rescuing the energy sector, and therefore the entire economy, could require unpopular steps.

LJUBLJANA - Companies from Slovenia are very interested in investing in Serbia's energy sector, construction industry, agriculture and IT sector, either through involvement in the privatization program or public-private partnerships, President of the Slovenian Business Club Danijela Fisakov told Tanjug on Friday.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian and Serbian businessmen attending the Business Forum in Ljubljana on Friday expressed strong interest in joint projects and collaboration in third markets, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Marko Cadez told Tanjug.
