Cadez: Strong interest in joint projects

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian and Serbian businessmen attending the Business Forum in Ljubljana on Friday expressed strong interest in joint projects and collaboration in third markets, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Marko Cadez told Tanjug.

The aim is to get the most out of the experience of Slovenian companies in the EU, and of the good business and economic position of Serbia, which, owing to free trade agreements, has access to the markets of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the PKS president pointed out.

The meeting also addressed Serbian companies looking for a foothold in the Slovenian market and what they have to offer, he said.

One of the suggestions presented at the Forum was to establish cooperation between Slovenian and Serbian companies in the food sector for the purpose of exports to third markets, said Cadez.

Serbia's food industry has strong export potential, the PKS president said, noting that the Serbian soft drinks maker Nektar took over the Slovenian peer Fructal.

The Belgrade Waterfront project was presented in a special panel, and the Slovenian companies have shown much interest in this investment project, he said.

The second panel was dedicated to privatization programs in Serbia and in Slovenia, Cadez said.

He noted that the officials of the Economy Ministry and the Privatization Agency presented the potential of Serbian enterprises in the best possible way.

The business forum was attended by the representatives of Serbian and Slovenian companies operating in the sectors of energy, construction, tourism, creative industry and information technologies.
