Over 20 injured in 24-vehicle pileup in İzmit

A multiple-vehicle collision involving as many as 24 vehicles on a busy highway in the northwestern province of İzmit near Istanbul left at least 21 people injured on May 31. 

The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. when a truck driver heading toward Istanbul lost control of his vehicle, which rolled over on the Anadolu highway.

Romanian transporters request French, European authorities to protect professional drivers

The National Union of Road Hauliers in Romania (UNTRR) request the intervention of French and European authorities, as well as the involvement of the Romanian Government in order to protect the professional drivers, as well as the vehicles that transport freight to the United Kingdom of Great Britain, based on the increase of immigrant attacks on road transporters.

Police arrest truck driver on drug charges in Lykovrisi

A truck driver was arrested on Monday in Lykovrisi, northern Athens on charges of transporting and smuggling drugs into Greece after amounts of cocaine and hashish were found in his vehicle.

According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the suspect, a foreign national, said he was a truck driver transporting products between European countries.
