Zelezara wins gold SAP quality award

SMEDEREVO - Zelezara Smederevo received top recognition for excellence in the implementation of SAP (Systems, Applications and Products) software solution in the SAP competition at the level of Central and Eastern Europe.

Gold was presented to the Smederevo-based steel mill for the most successful project in the category of medium implementation, the company stated in a release.

Zelezara won in the competition of 16 gold winners from various regions of Europe, the Middle East and Africa and made it to the short list of six most successful projects.

Implementation of the SAP program at the steel mill started in June 2012, and the system became operational as early as of January 1, 2013.

The award will be presented to Zelezara officials at a ceremony in Prague on February 27.

Zelezara Smederevo is a renowned producer of steel, hot and cold rolled products and tin plate, and its facilities are located in the village of Radinac near Smederevo, in Sabac and Kucevo.

In 2007, Ekonomist Weekly declared Zelezara Smederevo the Exporter of the Year.
