Serbian Army awards gold plaque to Military Medical Academy

BELGRADE - Chief-of-staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Ljubisa Dikovic has presented a gold plaque of the Serbian Armed Forces to the Military Medical Academy (VMA) on its 170th anniversary.

The decoration, which has so far been awarded only to the Serbian president on the occasion of the Day of the Serbian Armed Forces, was received by Head of the Military Medical Academy brigadier general Marijan Novakovic, the VMA stated.

The ceremony held at the VMA on Tuesday was attended by members of the collegium of the chief-of-staff of the Serbian Armed Forces and Head of the Military Medicine Department brigadier general Zoran Popovic.

Dikovic praised all people who have developed the VMA over the last 170 years, stressing that this kind of anniversary can be marked only by institutions whose goals are clearly set.

Novakovic thanked for the plaque, stressing that this recognition will be a great stimulus and obligation to further develop all segments of the VMA operations - medical treatments, research work and education.
