Organizers announce gay parade for September 28

BELGRADE -- The Belgrade LGBT pride parade will be held on Sunday, September 28, Tanjug has reported, quoting the Belgrade-based daily Politika.

The pride march will be followed by a party outside the Belgrade City Council building, according to these reports.

This year's parade was initially scheduled for May 31, but the plan was scrapped in the wake of the massive floods that hit Serbia earlier that month, the paper said.

Asked whether he believes that this year's parade will go ahead, organizing committee member Goran Miletić responded in the affirmative.

"The organizers have excellent cooperation with the police and the support of Minister of European Integrations Jadranka Joksimović and members of her office, as well as many ambassadors of Western countries," Miletić noted.
