BSc nursing studies to pioneer in Serbia

BELGRADE - The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade will pioneer the BSc nursing studies entitled Sestrinstvo in October thus providing an opportunity to nurses to receive university education, continue their studies at MA and PhD programs, pursue an academic career and conduct research in the area.

The enrollment is now ongoing.

After the four-year studies, one is awarded the BSc degree in nursing, Prof. Dr. Dejana Vukovic, the coordinator of the program, told Tanjug, stressing that the studies are based on the latest methods in nursing.

She said that the program will contribute to the improvement of the entire health care system in Serbia to the benefit of the patients.

The nursing studies will enhance the treatment of patients, which has to be in line with the European standards, Vukovic said.

One of the numerous advantages of the program is that graduate nurses will be able to become members of the management boards and directors of health care institutes.
