Vucic: I will not attend Pride Parade, it is my choice

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Thursday that he will not attend the Pride Parade on September 28th.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Thursday that he will not attend the Pride Parade on September 28 and pointed out that it is his duty as the Prime Minister to guarantee safety and security to the people and his democratic right to choose whether to attend the Parade or not.

"I respect the constitutional obligations of the state and it is my obligation to guarantee safety and security to all citizens. It is my democratic right to choose not to take part in the Pride Parade and I do not have the slightest intention of attending it," Vucic told at a press conference.

"I cannot take a leisurely walk on Sunday, I have other business than walking, and I would not attend the Parade even if I had nothing better to do. That is my choice. It is my choice to decide whether to go out with my children on Sunday or pay a working visit to Tekija. This is my choice," Vucic said.

He said that every day is a work day for him and that he will be working on Sunday just as always, as he is due to visit eastern Serbia which was recently hit by floods and conduct talks on the energy sector.
