Kosovo: Journalist comes under attack in workplace

PRIŠTINA -- A journalist with the Priština-based TV Klan has been stabbed with a knife by an attacker later arrested by the police.

The incident happened inside the premises of the broadcaster. The police did not wish to reveal the identity of the suspected perpetrator.

TV Klan announced that Milot Hasimja was attacked and that his injuries were not life-threatening.

The doctors who treated him said he sustained four wounds to the head but that his condition was stable.

The TV Klan news programming director, Gazmend Sula, said that an unknown person arrived at the broadcaster's premises requesting to speak with Hasimja, and then attacked him with a knife.

The media in Priština are unofficially reporting that the journalist was attacked "because the suspect in the past demanded that a video be removed from YouTube."
