Vucic, Valls visit house construction site in Obrenovac

OBRENOVAC - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and his French counterpart Manuel Valls visited the site of construction of one out of the seven private houses in Obrenovac the building of which is funded by the French government.

In the talks with the five-member family Ivaskovic in the Belgrade municipality of Obrenovac which suffered the most severe damages in the May floods, Vucic said that the repair of flood consequences in the municipality is slowly drawing to an end.

After we sign the contract with a company seven day from now, I believe that we will have finished our mission in Obrenovac, Vucic said and added that he cannot disclose the name of the company for the time being.

Valls said that the construction of the house would be a nice Christmas present for Ivaskovic family.

He noted that France was hit by floods in the recent years, and added that such natural disasters need to be prevented.

To achieve this, solidarity is also necessary, as shown by the example of Serbia and France, Valls said.

The construction of seven family homes in Obrenovac to the total area of 80 or 100 square metres each began this week, and the contractors are French companies Lafarge, Saint-Gobain group and Schneider Electric which will use their premium materials in the construction of the houses.

House owner Dejan Ivaskovic told Tanjug that he was promised the house would be built before winter when his family should move in.

Everything should be completed by that time as a turn-key project, Ivaskovic said and added that his family has been waiting for some time but they always believed that all works would be completed on time.
