Minister Tasovac to open exhibition on Great War

BELGRADE - An exhibition on the Great War will open at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade on Monday, shedding light on remarkable ordinary men from Serbian towns and villages, as victors of the Great War.

As announced, Minister of Culture and Information Ivan Tasovac will declare the exhibition open.

The exhibition is dedicated to unknown soldiers, heroes, courageous and resilient women and mothers, people of high moral stature and exceptional patriotism who fought for their homeland and lives of their family members.

The Great War is illustrated through various items, photographs, archive materials and audio recordings.

With this exhibition, the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade will join all culture institutions in Serbia and Europe in the year of remembrance of the beginning of World War I.

The authors of the exhibition are: Vesna Bizic Omcikus, Vesna Marjanovic, Mirjana Kraguljac-Ilic, Tatjana Mikulic and Jelena Tucakovic.

The exhibition will run through April 15, 2015.
