Greek, Chinese FMs discuss deepening countries' ties

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed deepening the two countries? economic ties when they met in Beijing on Wednesday.

?The formulation of a joint action plan for 2015-17 and a series of proposals for cooperation in the sectors of the economy and investments, and culture and education? were discussed during the meeting, according to the Greek Foreign Ministry.

According to the Xinhua news agency, Wang said Piraeus container port, run by Chinese giant Cosco, is ?a paradigm of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Greece.?

Xinhua also said that Kotzias told Wang Greece is prepared to play a part in the construction of the China-Europe Land-Sea Express Line.

Kotzias is in China on a four-day trip with Deputy Prime Minister Yiannis Dragasakis.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is due to travel to Beijing for an official visit in May.
