French police clash with migrants at Channel Tunnel (vid)

French riot police clashed with migrants overnight who tried to storm the fences and pass the Channel Tunnel to Britain. The migrants managed to tear down several security fences before charging the final fence before the entrance to the 50km Channel Tunnel. French Police repelled them by using spray and physical force. The migrants, who according to an Associated Press journalist number around 200, where at a standoff with police for an hour and were chanting slogans including: “Open the borders” and “We are not animals”. Thousands of migrants have been scaling fences in their efforts to enter Britain via the Tunnel in search for a better future. British and French interior ministries said the problem in the Channel is part of a “global migration crisis” that needs an international solution.
