One soldier killed, another wounded in clashes in Turkey's southeast

One soldier has been killed while another has been wounded in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r. 

Turkish Armed Forces started an operation in three neighborhoods in Diyarbak?r's Silvan province, which state forces began besieging 10 days ago in an effort to close trenches and remove barricades installed by locals to protect against attacks by soldiers and police. 

Two soldiers were injured on Nov. 11, as militants opened fire on security forces during the operation.

The injured soldiers were transferred via helicopter to Dicle University Medical School Hospital in Diyabak?r.
While one of the soldiers is still being treated, another soldier succumbed to his wounds.

Security forces have imposed a strict curfew in the Tekel, Mescit and Konak neighborhoods of Silvan, a provincial town of 90,000.
