FYROM extends the fence raised along FYROM-Greece borders

The government of FYROM has orderd to extend the fence which was raised along the country’s borders with Greece on Saturday 28th, FYROM’s military and police sources told Skopje newspaper Dnevnik.

FYROM’s army begun the construction works on Saturday morning in the neutral zone between Idomeni and Gevgelija, so as to “create a basic point from which refugees would enter the country”, FYROM’s sources said.

The length of the fence raised by military two days ago has been extended to about four kilometers. However, as sources reported to Dnevnik, this is only the first phase of the construction of the fence, since works will continue during the next days expanding the fence to reach 40 km, covering most part of the accessible line of the borders between FYROM and Greece.

However, FYROM authorities have not confirmed nor announced anything relevant to the fence.
