Explosion occurs near Istanbul's Bayrampa?a metro station
A mysterious blast has occurred near Istanbul's central Bayrampa?a metro station with the Istanbul governor stating that the cause of the explosion remains unknown.
At least six people were wounded, according to Anadolu Agency, which said the blast occurred at an overpass by the metro station.
The windows of a passing metro wagon were broken, after which passengers were evacuated.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, however, only announced that metro lines were cancelled due to a "sound resembling an explosion."
Reports of the blast went viral on social media, with users from various locations across the city reporting that they heard an explosion.
Ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.
