Jankovic beats Gavrilova in Wuhan, to face Muguruza

WUHAN - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic has got off to a successful start at the WTA tennis tournament in Wuhan, China, after beating Australian Daria Gavrilova 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round.

Jankovic won after 87 minutes of play and is now 2-0 head-to-head against Gavrilova.

Jankovic will next face reigning Roland Garros champion Garbine Muguruza of Spain, against whom she has a 1-3 head-to-head record.

The prize money in Wuhan is 2,589,000 dollars.
