Jankovic overcomes Muguruza to advance to Wuhan last 16

WUHAN - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic is through to the last 16 of the WTA tennis tournament in Wuhan, China, after beating world number 3 Garbine Muguruza of Spain 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) in Round 2 on Tuesday.

Jankovic won after 102 minutes of play and is now 2-3 head-to-head against Muguruza.

In a bid to reach the quarter-finals, the Serbian will face Czech Barbora Strycova, whom she has defeated in their sole encounter so far.

The prize money in Wuhan is 2,589,000 dollars.
