Gojkovic visits Switzerland, marks diplomatic anniversary

BERN - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic has begun an official visit to the Swiss Confederation by attending a ceremony commemorating the centenary of Serbia's diplomatic representative office in Bern.

The anniversary is a legacy and an obligation for the future at the same time, Gojkovic said late Tuesday.

Based on a rich tradition and a sincere, proven friendship, the friendly bilateral relations should be developed further, Gojkovic said.

President of the Swiss National Council Christa Markwalder highlighted the resolve of the Serbian leaders to carry out reforms.

The Swiss-Serbian consecutive OSCE chairmanship significantly contributed to the good relations, as did an intensified political dialogue at the highest level, a statement from the Serbian parliament quoted Gojkovic as saying.
