28 migrants rescued off Aegean islet

The EU border agency Frontex said one of its maritime patrols rescued 28 migrants on Wednesday near the eastern Greek islet of Ro.

Frontex officials also arrested a 19-year-old man believed to be the migrants' trafficker.

The migrants have been transferred to the nearby island of Kastellorizo.

On Tuesday, Turkey's coast guard said it stopped 71 Syrian migrants in a rubber dinghy as they were trying to reach Lesvos.
