Turkey calls EU report to suspend accession talks null and void

EU Minister Ömer Çelik said on July 6 that the EU report to suspend accession talks with Turkey was null and void immediately after the European Parliament voted to accept the proposal for the suspension.

Çelik said the decision was not impartial and binding for the country and Ankara would return the report.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hüseyin Müftoğlu also called the report null and void, adding that the decision would not have any positive contribution to the relationship with the bloc.
