Slovenia wins five Golden City Gate gold awards in tourism promotion

Ljubljana – The Slovenian Tourism Board (STO) received four gold and three silver awards in this year’s Golden City Gate international competition, which celebrates excellence in promotional campaigns and features. Another gold award went to the Slovenian western region of Posočje.

The award ceremony was part of the international ITB Berlin Now travel trade show.

STO director Maja Pak said that the organisation was proud to see that all of its seven campaigns and communication tools that had participated in the competition were honoured with either gold or silver awards, adding that the accolades recognised the STO’s innovative approach.

The gold awards were bestowed on Slovenia for music in the promotional video Feel Slovenia Business Date, printed guide Slovenia Outdoor, promotional campaign Tour de France, and online promotional campaign Taste Slovenia.

The promotional video Time to Stay Home – Turn to Nature and Dream, communication platform for responsible travel standards Green&Safe and the new IGTV Feel Slovenia feature meanwhile won silver.

The Posočje destination was awarded gold for its promotional video Go with the flow Soča Valley.

A total of 121 products from 23 countries participated in the contest. Slovenia bagging so many awards is a great achievement in promoting the country’s tourism, Pak said in a written statement.
