Eurozone inflation slowed to 6.9% in March, Greece at 5.4%
The Eurozone inflation rate eased to 6.9% in March from 8.5% in February and 7.4% in March 2022, Eurostat said on Wednesday. In the EU, the inflation rate was 8.3% in March, down from 9.9% in February but up from 7.8% in March 2022.
An appeal was made - the Ukrainians spoke up
They were invited to speed up this process, Ukrainian parliamentarian Alexei Goncharenko said, RIA Novosti reports.
"Rada appealed to NATO member countries and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to speed up Ukraine's entry into the Alliance," Goncharenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

Dendias, Cavusoglu meet briefly at NATO meeting
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu met briefly on the sidelines of a NATO meeting of foreign ministers in Brussels on Tuesday.
In a post on his official Twitter account, Dendias said he also spoke with the foreign ministers of Albania, Canada, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway and Spain.

Eurostat: Bulgarian Women give Birth to their First Child the Earliest
Women in Europe are giving birth to their first child later than before: according to the European statistics agency Eurostat, the average age of first-time mothers in the European Union was 29.7 years in 2021, reported the "Frankfurter Rundschau". Statistics place Bulgarian women among the youngest mothers - the average age when they have their first child is 26.

Turkish national football team begins its quest for a place in the 2024 European Championships in an away game against Armenia on March 25 in Yerevan.
The game may add to recent diplomatic efforts for reconciliation between the two neighboring countries.

Bulgaria has the Lowest GDP per capita in the EU
In 2022, gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, expressed in purchasing power standards (PPS), varied between 59 percent from the European Union average in Bulgaria and 261 percent in Luxembourg. This is shown by the latest data of the European statistical agency Eurostat, published yesterday on its official page and quoted by BTA.

Seventeen EU countries, Norway agree to jointly buy ammunition for Ukraine
Seventeen European Union countries plus Norway agreed on Monday to jointly procure ammunition to help Ukraine and to replenish their own stockpiles, the EU's European Defence Agency said.
Bulgaria has the Highest Death Rate in the EU
With 1,787 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, Bulgaria has the highest mortality rate in the EU in 2020, reported the European Union's statistical agency Eurostat.
Bulgaria is followed by Romania (1,622), Hungary (1,513), Lithuania (1,482) and Latvia (1,445).

Greek inflation eases to 6.5% in February
Greece's annual European Union-harmonized inflation rate fell to 6.5% in February from 7.3% in January, Eurostat said in its flash estimate on inflation trends on Thursday.
This was the fourth lowest rate in the eurozone last month.

Bulgaria is among the EU countries with the Highest Household Expenditure on Food and Soft Drinks
In 2021, EU households spent over 1.035 billion euros, which is equivalent to 7.1% of the total EU GDP, on "Food and non-alcoholic beverages", according to data from the official European statistics agency Eurostat.
