Belic: Debate on Stefanovic's Ph.D. politically motivated

BELGRADE- State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Education Aleksandar Belic said Tuesday that a recent debate at Serbian parliament’s Committee on Education about alleged Ph.D. plagiarism by Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic had had a political ćaracter and announced greater transparency regarding all doctoral dišertations.

Stefanovic: Police is backbone of state

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic laid a wreath on Sunday at the memorial to Jakov Nenadovic, one of the leaders of the First Serbian Uprising and the minister of internal affairs of Serbia at the beginning of the 19th century, on the occasion of the Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Day.

Belgrade police parades through Knez Mihailova Street

BELGRADE - Belgrade police paraded through the Knez Mihailova Street on Saturday on the occasion of the Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Day.

The parade included members of the traffic and criminal police, firemen-rescuers, the rescue team of the Serbian Interior Ministry, officers with dogs and members of the Cavalry Brigade.

Serbian Protesters Urge 'Plagiarising' Minister To Quit

The protest held in Belgrade's main square against the Interior Minister was organized on Facebook by group called “Citizens against Nebojsa Stefanovic." 

It has attracted more than 4,200 likes and reflects the anger felt by some over claims that Minister Stefanovic plagiarised parts of his PhD thesis on local government.

PM: State had no part in Pescanik website attack

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said on Tuesday that it has been ascertained that the Pescanik website was attacked from two IP addresses, and underscored that the state had no part in the cyber attack.
The Pescanik website carries analyses and opinions by human rights activists, journalists, distinguished public figures, professionals and academicians.
