Fatal traffic accident claims life of asylum seeker, injures another in Mytilini

A fatal traffic accident occurred shortly after midnight Saturday in the Panagouda settlement, located six kilometers north of the city of Mytilini on the island of Lesvos.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, died at the scene. He was one of two Eritrean asylum seekers from the nearby Kara Tepe camp involved in the incident.

Truck queue at Türkiye-Iran border reaches 10 kilometers

A 10-kilometer-long queue of trucks has formed at Türkiye's southeastern Esendere Border Gate in Hakkari due to technical issues ongoing for five days at the Iranian customs.

Additionally, renovations at the alternative border gate to Iran, Ağrı's Gürbulak Border Gate, have redirected more trucks to the Esendere Border Gate.

Tragedy struck this morning on Tsarigradsko Shosse Blvd in Plovdiv as a woman lost her life after being struck by a municipal garbage truck. The incident occurred around 9:50 AM, leaving the victim deceased at the scene. The woman's identity remains unknown at present.

Trucks to be monitored in real time via satellite in Greece

A project to monitor long-haul trucks by satellite to crack down on contraband activities and human trafficking will be partly funded by the European Union's Recovery Fund.

The project, conceived by the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) is set to be completed in two and a half years.

Containers full of passports stolen in Athens

Containers full of passports were stolen from a Hellenic Post delivery truck by an unidentified group in the Athens neighborhood of Kallithea on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1.45 p.m. when the group broke into delivery truck after the driver pulled over for a few minutes.

The passport containers were equipped with a GPS tracking system.
