Nikolic: Serbia a reliable partner to investors

BELGRADE - Over the past year and a half, Serbia has pursued a policy of being a reliable partner to investors, and it will continue to do so in the coming period, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said at a meeting with a delegation of construction materials maker Lafarge Serbia.

President Nikolic said that investors can expect full support from state authorities, and that Serbia is offering them political stability and assistance regarding any problems they may encounter in their operations, the presidential press office said in a statement.

The Lafarge Serbia delegation, headed by Director General Dimitrije Knjeginjic, presented the company's expansion plans to President Nikolic.

Lafarge Serbia is interested in the privatisation of some state-owned companies, in particular the Ivan Milutinovic company.
Direct investments by Lafarge Serbia so far amount to more than EUR 110 million.

The Lafarge Serbia representatives also presented to President Nikolic legal proposals to facilitate the operations of companies in the Serbian construction materials industry, the statement said.
