Kayak duo and Benedek-Ruzicic win bronzes at Canoe WC
MOSCOW - Serbian kayaking duo of Marko Tomicevic and Vladimir Torubarov and single kayaker Dalma Benedek-Ruzicic won the bronze medals in the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships’ men's K-2 1000m and women's K-1 1000m events, respectively, in Moscow Saturday.
Tomicevic and Torubarov finished the final race in a time of 3:09.857, following winners Slovakia (3:08.784) and second placed Australia (3:09.637), the biggest success in the Serbs’ paddling career so far.
In a tightly contested final, Serbia’s Benedek-Ruzicic finished in 3:49.780 minutes behind the winner Teneale Hutton of New Zealand (3:49.423) and Hungary’s Tamara Csipes (3:49.474).
