Serbia beat France to reach Basketball World Cup final

MADRID - Serbia is in the final of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup after beating France 90-85 (21-15, 25-17, 15-14, 29-39) in the semifinals in Madrid on Friday.

The players coached by former basketball star Aleksandar Djordjevic will play defending champions United States in the Sunday final.

Serbia also beat European champions Spain during the tournament.

After scintillating victories over Greece in the Top 16 stage and Brazil in the quarterrfinals, Djordjevic's guys delivered another great game in the meeting with France.

As in previous matches, the Serbian team paved their way to triumph by courageous play, and the leader's role was once again taken and proven by true basketball master Milos Teodosic.

Teodosic led the team to victory nailing 24 points, Bogdanovic added his 13, Markovic, Krstic and Raduljica put in 11 each, and Bjelica added 10 more.

Best among the Tricolores were Batum with 35, Diaw with 13 and Heurtel with 12 points.
