Dacic to meet with Burkhalter, Steinmeier in Berlin

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will on Wednesday meet with the President and Foreign Minister of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter, who is OSCE chairman-in-office, and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin on the fringes of a conference on antisemitism.

With the two officials, Dacic will discuss current affairs on the OSCE agenda and activities during Serbia's OSCE chairmanship in 2015.

On Thursday, November 13 in Berlin, Dacic will take part in a conference marking the tenth anniversary of the Berlin Declaration on antisemitism, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

While in Berlin, Dacic will also meet with Michael Georg Link, director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the statement said.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will host a joint dinner for Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Didier Burkhalter at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin on Wednesday, the German Federal Foreign Office has said in a release.

The talks between Steinmeier, Dacic and Swiss President Burkhalter will mainly consist in an informal exchange of opinions on the OSCE priorities and its role in the Ukrainian conflict, the release said.

The Federal Foreign Office points out that Serbia is taking over the OSCE chairmanship from Switzerland on January 1, 2015, while Germany has applied for the role of the chair country of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in 2016.
