EU IPA funds for development of Serbian economy

BELGRADE - Jadranka Joksimovic, Serbia's minister without portfolio responsible for EU integration and national IPA coordinator, talked on Friday with Jean-Eric Paquet, director at the Directorate General for Enlargement of the European Commission, who voiced readiness to support the development of small and medium sized enterprises even more strongly.

As the ministry noted in a release, the meeting also considered the possibility of allocating the 2015 IPA funds with a projection until 2017 in the way that would support the projects aimed at improving the transport infrastructure, boosting competitiveness and offering social assistance during the restructuring of companies.

The minister presented the efforts that the government is investing to ensure improvements in the fields, which are important development components of the economy.

The meeting, which also brought together representatives of the ministries of construction, transport, infrastructure and labor, also considered the issue of possible strategic connections between key transport corridors in the region, and the region with EU countries.
