MAE's Ciamba to attend Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels

State Secretary for European Affairs with the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) George Ciamba will be attending a meeting of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels over Dec. 14-15, MAE informs in a release on Sunday.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Romanian official will take part in a meeting of Ukraine's Group of Friends, also attended by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

The Ebola outbreak, the situation in Syria, Iraq and Libya, the approach to the enlargement process in the Western Balkans, focusing on Bosnia and Herzegovina are some of the topics to be tackled by the EU's foreign ministers.

The security situation in the Middle East will be the main topic of the talks. The ministers will approach the Syrian issue, with emphasis on humanitarian aid, the issue of the refugees and the regional impact of the crisis.

The European ministers will also assess the latest developments in Ukraine, including in the light of the preparations for the first meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council. Another topic on the agenda regards the EU's relations with the Western Balkan states. AGERPRES
