Iohannis: Prosecutor-General should be amongst CSAT members

President Klaus Iohannis stated that he believes that the Prosecutor-General should be amongst the members of the Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT), given the perspective of modernizing the institutional infrastructure of the national security laws and of the CSAT law.

"From the point of view of consolidating the judiciary system I believe that, given the perspective of rethinking and modernizing the institutional infrastructure of the national security laws and of the CSAT law, it is useful to bring to discussion if amongst the CSAT members the Prosecutor-General should also be found, not a specific person, but the institution of the Prosecutor-General", said Iohannis during the meeting of the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM).

He also stated his belief that the CSM, the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the Prosecutor General's Office should hold legislative initiative, because they represent the institutions applying the law and governing justice.
